Supra-diagnostics is a new landmark in MRI era. It allows revealing pathologies concealed while diagnosing various posture-dependent pains. Patients with position and motion dependent neck and arm pain, back and leg pain, knee and ankle pain, with neurological signs can be investigated by “tilting magnetic resonance imaging” (tmri). This allows detecting mobile disc herniations, dynamic stenosis, segmental instability etc. which were often not or insufficiently recognized on recumbent MRI.
The correlation between clinical finding and tMRI pictures is more reliable and allows more “targeted” treatment. This will contribute to improved post operative outcome and avoid unnecessary “uncompromising” conservative treatment in cases of evident mechanical pathologies causing debilitating pain and neurological deficits.
